P.A.V.E. the Way to Learner Agency

By reviewing our beliefs about teaching, learning and the learners in front of us, we can P.A.V.E. the way for the kind of learning experiences we know is integral to making learning relevant.

Sustainability and Minimalism in Education

It is impossible to list the numerous tasks educators do, and decisions they make each day. In today’s educational context, under the endless expectations, teachers feel compelled to work in a way that is not healthy or sustainable. Recognizing the fatigue teachers face and addressing how capacity can be built by refocusing attention on the essentials can help skilled educators want to remain in the profession. How do we reduce this fatigue and shift from ‘everything is important’ to the things that are actually our priorities? Bringing a minimalist mindset to the classroom, role or school can help shed the burden of too many initiatives, strategies, and “things” in general. Participants will engage in reflection activities and work with tools created by the authors to begin planning for a more sustainable future in their profession.

Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E. FUNnote
The Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.® keynote (or FUNnote as we like to call it) is the best way to introduce educators to the social-emotional learning framework which is backed by brain research and applies seamlessly to your content. We’ve shared the Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E. FUNnote in schools all over the world, and the feedback we receive is so incredibly positive. Unlike most keynotes, attendees actually want the information we share. Educators stay engaged as we take them through the framework, and show them how to apply it with students. Do we get people up out of their chair? YES! Do we have fun? YES! Do we get educators and administrators fired up and inspired to aim for a higher level of achievement? ABSOLUTELY!
